Nutrition for Kids


Broccoli as a treat?  This activity is one of my favourites.  It’s a great way to introduce healthy eating.  I avoid telling kids that there are foods they should never have (with the exception of an allergy) but rather that there are ”sometimes” foods and “everyday” foods.  I pack 2 lunches.  One filled with healthy choices (or at least a healthier version) and the other filled with “sometimes” foods.  I encouraged students to have a part in making their lunch at home and to try and even request healthy choices.  We discuss why they think one lunch is better than the other.
