Time to search for treasure! I created this pirate bath just for fun, but it would be perfect for a special occasion for a child who loves everything pirate. I created the look of a ship using a black sheet and attached the pirate hat at the front.
I used our pirate ship and pirate figures to add to the pirate theme. The figures also made for fun bath toys. A piece of wood worked well as the figures walked the plank.
Inside the bath, I cut up a foam drawer liner. It worked well because it floated in the water and created a great sensory experience. My kids experimented with the squares as they stuck them to the walls. They also created an interesting look in the water as they looked for the buried treasure.
I put int some plastic coins into the water as treasure. The squares made the treasure hunt a bit more interesting and next time I would add even more squares. My kids ended up experimenting with all of the different materials. Even playing with the wood in the water and testing how much weight they could put on it before it sank.
