Setting Up Your Game
Once the pages are printed, follow the set up instructions below for each of the puzzles. Once your printables are ready, set up can be quick and easy! You can choose to add decorations to add to the excitement and create a theme. Simple additions, such as a table cloth, a few sparkly gems or music that fits the theme adds to the excitement as soon as players enter the room.
I cut out letters to spell out, “Can You Escape?” and placed it on the table along with some friendship beads. The girls were very excited when they saw all of the decorations.
There are six puzzles that need to be folded and placed on the table. One by one players will open the puzzles as they solve the game. There is also a welcome letter that can be given to players or simply placed with the other puzzles in order to start the game.

The six folded pages shown below are the featured puzzles needed to play the game. However, if you want to make the game more challenging you can choose to not place all of the folded clues on the table.
Rather players must solve each puzzle and ask for the next clue by stating what the last clue revealed would be on the front. If they are right, they get their next clue. It makes the game harder by not showing players the images they are ultimately looking for after each puzzle is solved.

Escape Room Game
Puzzle #1
The first puzzle is a welcome letter. Players notice a series of words made out of friendship beads. The words tell players a little bit about the game they are starting to play. The beads tell players that if they solve each puzzle correctly, they will be left with a word. This word is the picture they are looking for on one of the folded pages.

There are also several sentences at the bottom of the page. Each of these sentences tells players specific beads to find on the bracelet as well as a letter bead near the colored bead. For example, ‘The letter to the left of the blue star.’

Players go through the letter and find each of the beads, and then the letters beads. Once players find and highlight each of these beads, they read the letters, in order, to make a sentence. On this clue, the letters spell out, “OPEN SUNGLASSES”. Players look to the folded clues on the table, and find the sunglasses to move onto their next clue.

Puzzle #2
The second puzzle simply needs to be printed and folded. There is not additional prep required.
When players open the folded page with the sunglasses on the outside, they find a picture of a party room. There are lots of balloons, cupcakes, gifts, flowers and more!
Players will read the poem found in the middle of the page. Many players will try to make sense of the words and find a hidden clue within the words, but to actually solve the puzzle, players will need to notice the small numbers placed within the riddle.

At the bottom of the page players will notice the numbers 13, 4, 21, 35, 30 and 8. There are also numbers below some of the words on the page, such as sparkly has the number 5 below it. This number 5 marks that ‘sparkly’ is the fifth word in the rhyme. Players will need to count the words in order to solve this puzzle!
‘Twinkling’ is word number one. ‘stars’ is the second word, and so on. Players need to find and write down the 13th, 4th, 21st, 35th, 30th, and 8th word in the poem. Once players figure this out they will be left with the sentence, “Count the gifts subtract the cupcakes.”

There are 7 gifts in the picture and 4 cupcakes. By following the instructions, players are given the number 3. Below these letters, the number 1-5 each have a picture/word that it is associated with. The number 3 = Nail Polish. Players then know to open the nail polish to find their next clue.

Puzzle #3
For the third puzzle, it simply needs to be printed in color and folded.
When players open the folded page with the nail polish on the front, they find a grid filled with lots of fun, glamorous pictures!

The words at the bottom of the page instruct players to one specific image by eliminating all of the other pictures. Each sentence at the bottom will direct players to at least one of the pictures on the page which they will then cross out. Some of the sentences will require players to cross out multiple images.

Once players read and cross out all of the images described by the clues at the bottom, they will be left with the disco ball. This is the next folded page for players to open.

Puzzle #4
This clue includes two pages. One has the pink background that can be folded in thirds. The other page, with the white background, needs to be cut along the dotted line. Cut out the music notes and place, and fold this strip along with the page with the pick background.

When players open the page with the disco ball, they find a strip of paper with music notes and page with a similar set of notes and a short riddle at the bottom.

The riddle tells players that some of the notes are missing. Players then need to compare the two sets of notes and find which notes are the ones missing on the main page. Once these four notes are found, players must look to the far left of the bar of notes and find the letter associated with each line. Once players find the matching note and letter name, they will have the word, ‘BEAD’.
This tells players to open the next clue with the (friendship) beads on the front.
Pop Star Party Game
Puzzle #5
The puzzle with the friendship beads on the front has a strip with nine images along the top. These pictures need to be cut out and included with the clue. You can either leave these cut outs loose inside the folded page, attached with a paper clip or placed in a sealable baggie. Because of the strip cut off of the top, the page is shorter, but can still be folded into thirds (with one section shorter).

When players open this puzzle, they will find the nine cut outs as well as a page with a 4×4 grid with some pictures on it. At the bottom of the page, there is another riddle explaining to players what they need to do.

Players need to place the cut outs on the grid so that each row and column have one of each picture. No picture can appear twice in a row or column. Once players successfully place each of the images, the picture that fits in the blue square is the picture players need for the next clue.
Players may have to play around a bit to get each of the pictures into the right place, but once they do they will find that the guitar is the picture in the blue square.
Sleepover Party Game
Puzzle #6
The sixth clue, with the guitar on the front includes two pages to prepare for players. One page, with words and sparkles, can be folded into thirds. The other page includes two circles that need to be cut out along the dotted lines. Place these circles inside of the folded page.

When players open the puzzle they find two different sized circles and a sparkly page with a riddle. The riddle tells players to solve a simple math equation (7+14=21) and find the tenth letter of the alphabet (J). This letter and number need to be lined up together.

Players then hold the two wheels in place so that the J and 21 stay lined up. Players then find four numbers, from the bottom of the folded page: 13, 26, 8 and 4. Each of these numbers are now lined up a letter on the wheel. The letters are BOWS. This is the image for the next clue!

Escape Room Completion Certificate
The final page is the completion certificate. You can print as many copies as you want so that each players gets a certificate or you can print one for the group. Once printed, fill out the page for players to hang onto.

When players open the folded page with bows, the find out that they have completed the escape room and solved all of the puzzles. You can choose to include a small prize for players when they complete the game, such as friendship beads or another fun themed prize. If you are using the game for a birthday party, goodie bags are a great option!

I hope that you enjoy this escape room game as much as my kids, and their friends did. The game works well for a sleepover party or just for anyone who loves everything glitter and glam!
