Valentine’s Day Craft for Kids

This Valentine’s Day craft for kids turned out super cute, and is really easy to make. I love the fact that it requires very few materials – which makes it perfect for young kids and for a classroom activity.

To start, I used 2 pieces of construction paper and glued two of the pieces together at the end to make an ‘L’ shape. I then alternated folding the paper on top of the other (as pictured). This creates a cute accordion look for the arms and legs. It is also great for fine motor skills for young kids.

I then cut a large heart for the head/face. The bottom of the heart works best cut straight so that the character can sit upright when complete. I then glued googly eyes, a smile from glitter paper, eye lashes and a sticker heart nose.

Once the arms are glued into place, the figure will sit which makes for a super cute Valentine. I later added some heart hands and feet to my character. This Valentine’s Day craft for kids is easy enough for young kids to make. It can also be made into a card by writing a little Valentine on the back of the face.

For a special treat for kids, or to give as a gift, I attached a small box onto the back of the Valentine to fill with chocolates or another treat. I know my kids, and my students would love to receive this Valentine.
